TITAN CMS - Segmented Search Block

Powerful search block that lets you group search results into different types of content and from different areas of your site.

Segmented Search is a powerful search block that lets you group search results into different types of content and from different areas of your site.  Searches on a specific term might return a mix of news, events, documents, images, videos, etc, and with Segmented Search the results will be grouped based on segment types built.   Segmented Search also provides flexibility to configure filters for users to use in controlling results in a more useful way.  *NOTE: Segmented search needs some css changes based on the design and layout it will be used on. This is because the filter cannot be placed in a different zone. When a designer styles the block they will try to make it look like a filter in the same “zone”. So a filter may have the filter in the right zone, and try to have the segmented search filter look the same, even though it’s in the center zone. We often put it on a full page layout.

How to build a Segmented Search block on your page:

  1. On the Content tab, select the drop down "Add New Block"
  2. Select "Segmented Search" from the list *Dialog will display.
  3. Select a Segment type and click arrow to move segment to selected, on right.  *You may use a type more than once to point to different content in order to group like items.
  4. Click to edit the segment type *Dialog will display.
  5. Set up the configuration for 1 or more Segment types (*You may use more than one time):
