TITAN CMS - Configuraable Items

The dtSearch Indexing Information Configurable Items are provided to allow you to adjust the way dtSearch indexes and retrieves documents.

Overview

As of v6.8 Search Indexes have been moved into the new Smart Search module under the Admin section.  The dtSearch Indexing Information Configurable Items are provided to allow you to adjust the way dtSearch indexes and retrieves documents.

Steps (v6.8 and future versions)

  1. Select the Smart Search module.
  2. Select Index.
  3. Select Admin.
  4. Scroll to dtSearch Indexing information on right panel. Check Configurable Items:
    1. Stemming = Stemming extends a search to cover grammatical variations on a word. For example, a search for fish would also find fishing. A search for applied would also find applying, applies, and apply
    2. Phonic searching = Phonic searching looks for a word that sounds like the word you are searching for and begins with the same letter. For example, a phonic search for Smith will also find Smithe and Smythe.
    3. Index Numbers = If your documents contain a lot of numbers and you do not expect to want to search for them, clear this checkbox to make dtSearch exclude numbers from your index. This will make your indexes smaller and will speed indexing.
    4. Click Save from the Page Action Bar to retain changes, or continue.
