TITAN CMS - Activate Pending Documents

A scheduled job that activates documents that have start dates configured after their final approval date.  Once activated these documents are live on the site.

Overview

A scheduled job that activates documents that have start dates configured after their final approval date.  Once activated these documents are live on the site.

- *More Detail -

The StartDate field for an item supports setting the date but not the time. We treat the StartDate as having the time of midnight in the time zone  configured for the SQL server.

The “scheduling” part is actually handled by a background task that, by default, runs at midnight as configured on the Application server running the Titan Background service. The scheduled time and frequency of that task is configurable, but the only time that matters is midnight on the SQL server.

*Scheduled tasks are set in the queue for processing at the selected time, but they are processed depending on how busy the server is at that time.  As there many maintenance tasks (backups, indexing) are scheduled often for midnight and the webserver is shared by many websites using scheduler, it is hard to predict when particular scheduled task is actually processed. (The end time in the scheduler task log will provide that information ).
