TITAN CMS - Default Page URL Template

The Default Page URL Template is used to generate the default Page URL for newly created CMS Items. This value is only used when a new CMS Item is created; after an item is created only the author/editor can change the Page URL.

Overview

The Default Page URL Template is used to generate the default Page URL for newly created CMS Items. This value is only used when a new CMS Item is created; after an item is created only the author/editor can change the Page URL.

Steps
  1. Select the Titan Administration module.
  2. Click + for Data Sites in left navigation tree.
  3. Click your Event database.  *The right pane details for the event database will display.
  4. Scroll to Default Page URL Template.
  5. Enter the Default Page URL Template.
  6. The template URL can contain substitution parameters. These include:
    1. %PATH% Takes the parent's Page URL, removes any document extension and appends the name of the new document. For example if the parent's Page URL is /Path/To/Parent.htm, the new item's name is ChildDocument, and the Page URL Template is %PATH%.htm, the default Page URL for the new document will be /Path/To/Parent/ChildDocument.htm
    2. %DocID% will substitute the ID for the newly created document. For example, if the Page Template URL were /display/router.aspx?DocID=%DocID%, then all Page URLs would appear similarly. A document with an ID of 42 would appear as /display/router.aspx?DocID=42
    3. %FileName% will substitute the name of the uploaded file. Whereas %PATH% will create a psuedo path to the uploaded file, using %FileName% can be used to create a fixed path to your files. For example, if the Template URL was /FileDirectory/%FileName%, then all uploaded files would take on similar page URLs, giving the site user the appearance that all files resided in the same directory.
  7. Click Save from the Page Action Bar to retain changes.
  8. Click Refresh Site State.
