TITAN CMS - Smart Search

How to keep the Search Index up to date

Overview

Keeping the Search Index up to date is accomplished by running Disk Refresh, Create Index or Update Index jobs found in the Titan Administration module.   Links will be accessible for existing Create Index and Update Index Jobs in Smart Search Admin section.  Clicking the link will take you to the job in Titan Admin module.   If links are not listed it may be due to user access limit or jobs were not configured yet.

*Remember to verify your Pages, Files, Data have the Property Index checked to be included in the desired Search Index.

Steps
  1. Select Titan Admin module
  2. Select Scheduled Jobs
  3. If the job hasn't been added, how to add:
    1. Add dtSearch Index - Create Job
    2. Add dtSearch Index - Update Job
  4. If the job exists, run the job: *Run order is import!
    1. dtSearch Disk Refresh   (Titan Admin module)
      1. Run this first before the Create or Update Jobs. *Wait until dtSearch Disk Refresh is finished before running next Job.
      2. The dtSearch Disk Refresh is used to update the dtSearch indexer with the latest custom block and DLL code.  The Disk Refresh job should be run after you install a new Block, add a new XSL for an existing block, or make changes to a Data Template.  This task should run only if there are no indexing jobs actively running.
    2. dtSearch Index:  (Titan Admin or Smart Search module)
      1. Create Job  *Run this job when new items are added or when items are deleted.
      2. Update Job *Run this job when information is updated.
      3. Hint:  Jobs may be set to automatically run or may be manually run.
