TITAN CMS - Smart Search Dashboard

Overview

The new Index Dashboard can be arranged with desired widgets and contains information on daily searches, popular search terms, and search start pages.  The dashboard may be arranged as desired by clicking on the right side blue icon and dragging the widgets or changing number of columns.  The change is a global change and will change all Indexes if more than one in your tree.

Steps
  1. Select the Smart Search Module.
  2. Select Index and view on right the Dashboard associated to the index.
    1. Features of the Dashboard:
      1. Calendar:
        1. Search per dates may be changed with calendar.  *Dates allowed - past dates up thru today are valid.
        2. Click calendar icon to open configuration.
        3. You may select drop down for pre-set options.
        4. You may select dates in calendar and apply.
        5. Click calendar to close or click off calendar to close.
      2. Dashboard Widgets:
        1. Daily Searches - a bar chart count of searches per day for a specific index. 
          1. Toggle feature:
          2. Mouse over bar see date and click.  Date only display of results.
          3. Click bar again to return to prior date range of results.
        2. Search Log - A list of recently submitted searches in chronological order with the date and time they were submitted. 
          1. User may click term link and view it's Keyword & Results detail.  This is located on the Content tab.
          2. User may click on the Results edit tab and view a list of Results for date span previously entered.
          3. Besides the search result being logged, workstation added Keywords will also be logged.  *To determine if logged from display side search or is a workstation added keyword, expand the start pages for that term, it will indicate added by Smart Search User.
          4. Access browse view drop down to select from system types or create your own.
          5. Search Log browse view:
          6. Search Phrase - term or phrase searched or added manually.
          7. Start Pages - icon may be clicked to view detail of page URL search initialized from; or if added manually.
          8. # of Searches - the number of time someone searched for that term. 
          9. % of Searches - the percentage of searches that were for that term.   *Use total number of searches, so divide number of searches per term by the total and multiply by 100.  It's possible the result could be ie. 100.10% or 96% due to matter of rounding.
          10. Last Searched - date & time of that term or phrase was last searched.
          11. To clear counts is by clearing Search Log which is done through the database cleanup task.
        3. Popular Unmanaged Terms - The searched terms that aren't currently being managed.
          1. User may click term link and view it's Keyword & Results detail.  This is located on the Content tab.
          2. User may click on the Results edit tab and view a list of Results for date span previously entered.
        4. Recently Managed Terms - Search terms that have been recently changed or managed in the Smart Search module.
          1. User may click term link and view it's Keyword & Results detail.  This is located on the Content tab.
          2. User may click on the Results edit tab and view a list of Results for date span previously entered.
          3. Managed Term Types *Not listed on dashboard but may view more detail per searched term:
            1. Organic *Search result not managed
            2. Feature *Search result managed to display at top of list.
            3. Direct *Search result managed to take user directly to item and not present results list.
            4. Card *Search result with list of results that shows block content of item for example Contact Information.
        5. Search Start Pages - The list of page URLs where search was initiated from. 
          1. Page URL will display and is not clickable.  *Note: Managed "Direct" configured item will produce the "Direct" pages URL.
          2. If using a Segmented Search block, the Search Index segment needs to be configured to log Page URLs.
Prerequisites

 

Log in to the workstation:

  1. Enter your TitanCMS URL in a browser address bar.
  2. The Titan Login screen will appear.
  3. Enter your User Name in the User Name field.
  4. Enter your Password in the Password field.
  5. Click Log In.  The TitanCMS application should open to the Titan Web Content Management Module.
