The latest enhancements include:  new browse view SEO Problems, updated Smart Search module, new Telephone link, New Property Sort Date & section, Titan Workstation Preview of Data item and Data Schema Relationships may be defined within same table.  The Dashboard widgets for Accounts (Approval, etc) have been removed from the Web Content Management module and are now only located in the User Management module.

SEO Problems Browse View:

A new Browse View  SEO Problems has been added for Data, Pages and Files.

This view will provide messages such as Page title missing, Meta description missing or Meta description is too long.  This information will be found under the Problems column.  Use this information to assist you to improve SEO Search Engine Optimization.

  1. The 2 Properties reviewed for problems are Page Title and Metatag Description:
    1. The Missing Page Title will show hint text if both the Page Title and Prefix from the Globe in Titan Admin are missing.
    2. Hint Text for Meta Description will or won't display based on if it's missing,  too long or too short.  Rules:
      1. Less than 50 characters is considered too short.
      2. Greater than 160 characters is considered too long.
      3. Optimal is 150-160.
    3. No message will display if missing metatag keywords.

New Smart Search Module:


We've revamped Smart Search to provide greater insight into the effectiveness of your site search. The new Dashboard can be arranged with desired widgets which contain information on daily searches, popular search terms, and search start pages. You also can see how often a search result is presented to users, and how often a result is clicked.   For your convenience Help text is found in module on right pane.  Access to one or more of your search indexes are on left.

Dashboard Widgets

Index's Dashboard View:

  • From the left tree, select a Search Index.  The tree expands automatically and will result with:
  1. Index's Dashboard - One or more indexes will be listed on left.
  2. Keyword & Results - List of terms searched and/or managed with statistical results along with options to Link or add Keywords.
  3. Admin - access to the configuration of the Index and links to Titan Admin dtSearch jobs if user rights allow.


  • Search per dates may be changed with calendar.  *Dates allowed include past dates up thru today.
  1. Click calendar icon to open configuration.
  2. You may select drop down for pre-set options.
  3. You may select dates in calendar and apply.
  4. Click calendar to close or click off calendar to close.

Dashboard & Widgets

  • The Dashboard includes widgets that can be moved to desired arrangement.
  1. Select the right blue icon to configure dashboard and move widgets.  Note: Changing dashboard impacts all Smart Search Indexes dashboards.  These widgets will only display in Smart Search module.

The Widgets:

  • Daily Searches - a bar chart count of searches per day for a specific index. 
  1. Toggle feature:
    • Mouse over bar see date and click.  Date only display of results.
    • Click bar again to return to prior date range of results.
  • Search Log - A list of recently submitted searches in chronological order with the date and time they were submitted. 
  1. User may click Search Phrase and view it's Keyword & Results detail.  This is located on the Content tab.
  2. User may click on the Results edit tab and view a list of Results for date span previously entered.
  3. To determine if Search Phrase was logged from display side search or added through worktation, create a browse view with User option.  Review if added by Smart Sesarch User logged into workstation ie. pamz or if from Display ie. Public.  If the website requires login the user's login would be listed.

  1. Access browse view drop down to select from system types or create your own.
  2. Search Log browse view:
    1. Search Phrase - term or phrase searched or added manually.
    2. Start Pages - icon may be clicked to view detail of page URL search initialted from; or if added manually.
    3. # of Searches - the number of time someone searched for that term. 
    4. % of Searches - the percentage of searches that were for that term.   *Use total number of searches, so divide number of searches per term by the total and multiply by 100.  It's possible the result could be ie. 100.10% or 96% due to matter of rounding.
    5. Last Searched - date & time of that term or phrase was last searched.
    6. To clear counts is by clearing Search Log which is done through the database cleanup task.
  • Popular Unmanaged Terms - The searched terms that aren't currently being managed.
  1. User may click term link and view it's Keyword & Results detail.  This is located on the Content tab.
  2. User may click on the Results edit tab and view a list of Results for date span previously entered.
  • Search Start Pages - The list of page URLs where search was initiated from. 
  1. Page URL will display and is not clickable.  *Note: Managed "Direct" configured item will produce the "Direct" pages URL.
  2. If using a Segmented Search block, the Search Index segment needs to be configured to log Page URLs.
  • Recently Managed Terms - Search terms that have been recently changed or managed in the Smart Search module.
  1. User may click term link and view it's Keyword & Results detail.  This is located on the Content tab.
  2. User may click on the Results edit tab and view a list of Results for date span previously entered.

New Managed Result Types

  • Organic - These are the results that are produced for a given search term or phrase based on the content and metadata of each item.   They are not managed yet.

  • Feature - These are results that you have chosen to feature at the top of your search results page.  Featuring a result makes it stylistically more prominent and allows you to edit the Title and Description that users see.

  • Direct - These are results that bypass the search result list and take user directly where they need to go.  If users are searching for "calendar" and most commonly select the results for a specific page, use a Direct result to take them there immediately.

  • Card - These are results presenting relevant information within the results list, rather than just a link to another page.  For example if user searches for address or phone number, present that inforamtion directly in the results list.  Card results renender the content blocks of a page as inline content on that search results page.

  • Impressions - increments every time the Search Index segment or Search Results block pulls it in results.
  • Clicks - increments every time the Search Index segment or Search Results block pulls it in results and user clicks on item in results.

  • Access to the Search Index is now in Smart Search Admin section.
  • Configured desired options for index.
  • If user login has Titan Admin access, user able to jump to dtSearch create and update jobs.  Example Every 4 Hours, Every 7 Days.  Jobs may be run manually or set up for auto run.

Titan Administration Module - The Search Index was moved into Smart Search Module - Admin section and is no longer listed in Titan Admin tree.

Additonal Help Information: 

  • Direct managed data item when viewed on display won't be able to use the return to link to land in data list results, it lands back on the Search Results list.
  • A Managed term will show "Remove" instead of  "Organic" when it's managed.  Select Remove to not manage the item.
  • The Property Audit is not required to track impressions or clicks.
  • dtSearch Index jobs access links will be listed in Smart Search Admin for valid users who have access to Titan Admininstration module.
  • Recording of Search Phrase is case sensitive.  What this means is the first search of that term will record term based on upper or lower case used.  Future searches of that same term, no matter if term was searched in different case, will be recorded like the first search case.  Example:  Search "Help" records as "Help"; search again but use "HELP" the term that  records search will be "Help"; search "help" records as "Help".
  • Search Log lists each recent search.  There is a date and time listed along with Start Pages.   The Start Pages are the list of Page Names and URLS the Search was peformed from.

  • The Keywords & Results section includes a list of search phrases, you can sort by columns with the exception of Start Pages.
  • Download results will not list or retain designation of M "managed" item.
  • Maximum time frame of dates for Keywords & Results 1/1/1901 - 12/31/2400
  • Use the Search Results block or Segmented Search block and select your Index.
  • The Search Results block is not limited to 1 site globe, you can configure an index with multiple globes if desired.
  • In Keywords & Results when the "Link" is not listed it is because the Search Phrase is already Linked. 
  • Workflow is not able to be configured on the Indexes.
  • Calendar default date range is last 30 days, you can manually change range temporarily.  There is not a way to set a different default.
  • The calendar apply button is to help draw the user click so that focus will change and the inputs can fire their events. 
  • Add Keyword button will be listed even if no results to manage.  If no results and a add & save is attempted, the save will not be retained.  Results are required to add keywords.
  • When running dtSearch jobs, first run disk refresh and when complete run the create job.
  • Keywords & Results may have "Results Found" at 200 but when managing results the first 10 will be available to manage.  To change to allow more than 10 results, change the Titan Admin Global Paramater SearchItemsToDisplay.
  • The filter search in Keywords & Results sometimes seems to be stuck.  From time to time if text in the box is changed yet very similar to prior search, it seems to not trigger a new search because it's still the same as the last time it sent a request.  It's part of the ajax callback.
  • A message may display when adding a keyword that is already a managed set "This keyword or phrase is being used with another Result Set.  Do you want it to be managed with this Result Set instead?  Ok/Cancel.
  • In Keywords & Results each item may have a Preview button to view item.

  • Titan Admin - Common Site Config - SearchDescriptionOrder *Make sure in the correct order so description will display.
  • Where Used "Other" category for Smart Search Keywords, the Edit link will take you to the Smart Search module but not the exact keword.  This is a limitation at this time.

Telephone Link:

  • In the WYSIWYG option of Titan Links, the Telephone link is now available.  Help information and a valid format example is provided. 
  • There is no limit on the Telephone number field length even though most numbers are 15 digits or less.  The standard indicates that there is no prescribed limit on the length of a phone number.

  • New Telephone Link indicator in Titan Workstation:

  • Browsers on mobile devices that can make calls will open their calling apps when the Telephone Link is used.
  • Desktop browsers will do the same but the likelihood of a calling app being there is much lower.  Applications that do internet calls would likely open up (ie. Skype)

New Property Sorting Section:

  • A new Sorting section in property now includes:
  1. Display Order
  2. Sort Date & Time
  3. Last Published Date
  • If there are duplicate items, the sort will be ordered using the following:
  1. Sort Date
  2. Last Published
  3. Page Name
  4. DocID

The default Data Detail Id must be configured in Titan Admin for the Data Site's Internal Display File.  The DocId and DataId are listed in the URL.


Schema Relationship may now be defined per the same table:

The Schema Relationship may now be created from same table. 

Example:  Articles stored in table Articles will show relationship if subject is the same. 

Relationship Chart

  • If the input in column matches (A=B) a relationship record would display in the data detail display.  In v6.8 valid columns from a table can relate to a different column in the same table, or a column from a different table.
  • *Main use for this new enhancement will be used with Lookups.
  • The Tab Name in data detail relationship display will be the relationship name, not the table name.
  • The website display will display a tab for each valid relationship name that has a match.  Each tab will contain records that are there because of that specific relationship.
  • Relationships need to be configured under 1 Schema.
  • External Key inputs must still be unique.
  • Relationship Names may be the same name.   The name is mainly for XSL developers to discern which related data is which.  However, the fact that names could be the same gives the option to group content from separate relationships together on the display.
  • Sorting would need to be added through customization.
  • Basic Styling:  Related items will have alternating row colors and spacing so it's easier to differentiate between a list of related items on a tab.
  • Do not use the "ALL" attribute, the match of relationship inputs will not work.  Assign the specific ie. Lookup attribute such as "Manufacturing"

The logo was updated on the v6.8 TitanCMS Workstation Login and inside Module Selector.
